Essay Topic

Essay TopicEvery student who enters the Texas A&M University has an essay topic, because it is one of the most important steps in the essay writing process. The essay topic not only determines how the essay will be used in the grade, but how it will be used to set the tone for the entire work. It is the first element that should be reviewed by the student and the writer and used as a guiding star for the rest of the essay. However, it should not be an afterthought or thought too far in advance.Because the topic should be used as a means to express something more than simply to state a perspective or opinion, it should be chosen with care. Essay topics are written in a variety of styles. An 'in-your-head' style may appeal to some, while others prefer a more sophisticated style. Although there are a wide variety of styles, it is possible to come up with a reasonably good essay topic using only one, or maybe two styles. Therefore, rather than beginning with the most difficult and/or con fusing style, which is what usually happens, the student should try to find a style that they find more comfortable. It is generally agreed that the essay topic should be based on the syllabus. That is, if the syllabus does not require a particular topic, then the students should not even begin with the process of writing the essay. Instead, the students should come up with the idea themselves and develop a solid outline, and then write a coherent essay.Of course, when a student comes up with a strong syllabus and has a strong sense of where they want to go with the essay, they should approach the process of developing an outline. This will entail coming up with an introduction, some main points and supporting evidence, supporting argument(s), conclusion, and a concluding paragraph. The main idea of the essay should be developed first, and then the supporting information can be presented to support that main idea. The student approaches the topic by considering the fundamental concept s they will need to discuss, and at the same time, carefully assessing the way that each concept should be presented. The best way to do this is to organize the essay topic in some way.Of course, this means that the student should choose a beginning point, then make a decision about how to relate the different aspects of the main ideas. They should then make a decision about what particular elements of the main ideas they will focus on. Finally, they should arrange those parts of the essay into a coherent statement of the main idea.Once the essay is completed, it is important to determine how much information will fit into a fairly brief outline. When this is done, the student can then move forward and fill in the details. It is important to keep in mind that this is a very simple outline, and that there is plenty of room for expansion. In conclusion, an essay topic is extremely important to writing a great essay. The topic is only one element of an excellent essay and is often forgo tten in the process of creating the paper. It is important that the essay topic is thought about and chosen carefully and used only as a guide to begin the process of writing the paper.
